Marija

June, 2014. Our counselor was at the hospital per her normal schedule and asked the head nurse if there were any women there for abortion. The nurse replied that there was one, but seemed to discourage us from speaking with her, saying that the woman is still nursing the youngest of her 4 children, the family is poor, etc. The counselor told the nurse that her purpose was to talk with every woman considering abortion.

She spoke with the woman, while the husband went to pay for the abortion. She spoke of the value of life, and showed the woman a model of an unborn baby at her current stage of pregnancy (9-10 weeks). The woman was amazed, stating “I didn’t know my baby looked like that already!”. Her husband came back, and the counselor spoke with him too. She asked him which of his children was of greater value – the 1st or the 4th. He stated that they had the same value. She then asked him, “what about the 5th child? Is it of less worth?”

He realized that this child is just as valuable as the first. They were very excited, saying that nobody had ever encouraged them that having this baby was even a possibility. They decided to give this child a chance at life! The hospital refunded their money, and we have stayed in contact with them, providing whatever assistance we can. Baby Marija was born on January 28, 2015.
